Scott Kelby's " Adobe photoshop Lightroom for digital photographers"
Why:
* It is easy to follow
* It has step-by-step instructions
* Some great tips
* At the back there is some guides on workflow for different Genre
* You don't need to read the whole book, you can just jump to a page and learn how to do that task
* You will read the whole book, cause he presents his books so well that you end up reading them, and learning a lot.

Thanks Darren. This is what I wanted - more than one choice. I will check it out tomorrow - fishpond is offline at the moment.
Martin Evening's Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Book is another excellent reference. It's bit more technical (and a couple hundred pages longer!) than Kelby's. Whether it's the best though depends on what you want to get out of it I guess.

Would have to agree with Rick on this one, have a couple of Kelby's books and all are easy to read and understand, Lightroom was a bit hard to get my head around until I got this book.

Thanks DeaconZane & Michael. Don't want anything too technical just really a do this and this happens book. I'm getting to old to go into all that technical stuff it clogs up my busy brain too much.
I have Martin Evening's book and like it, but I have heard that it is best read after Kelby's book.

I have to agree about the Scott Kelby books. I have the lightroom book, it is simple to understand and written for photographers.
Thanks Bill and andrew.
Your local library can get these books to test before you buy. I had the Scott Kelby's book for 8 weeks; I need to get it again.
Thanks Ian, I will check out the library tomorrow.
