End of Win 10 Support - October 2025

Here is an earlier thread: https://www.ausphotography.net.au/fo...?167184-Win-11 on this topic.

Today the following flashed up on my screen:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/wind...up_app_omc_win

I found it mostly guff about driving people to go up a WIn11/hardware upgrade path, which is something I am
quite disinclined to do. I like my laptop a lot, and Win 10 suits me still

What plans have others got about the end of Win 10 support? I'm thinking that since that support is mainly
security updates, that there may be some other security suite way to keep it up

Well my computer has been trying to install W11 for over 18 months every morning it has another go though it cannot seem to install it.
This computer is around 3 years old and has lots of bigger ram and all those things that suppose to make it work right.
It even tells me I have got everything. But all it gives me is a (0x800703ee) error.

My girlfriend is like you Am knows so much but she cannot get it right for me I have looked and tried so many youtube videos and none help.
So I am stuck with Win 10 and I don't mind at all.. Hopefully there will be a security suite out there to help me too

I shoot with Olympus Cameras.. Sometimes Canon and My iPhone 16Pro.

According to searches, that's crook USB controllers, M A.

A [tech-slightly-savvy person] should be able to fix that by uninstalling the current drivers
and [downloading from appropriate site] and reinstalling them. The site mght be somewhere
on MS or from the computer manufacturer's site.

Here are 3 links (out of many) that detail the situation:
    1) https://recoverit.wondershare.com/us...x800703ee.html
(Beware of offers from Wondershare as you browse the site.)

    2) https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...3-cea86a4f6296
This sounds like the very one you've got.

    3) https://www.partitionwizard.com/disk...3ee-error.html
NB: In this Minitool site you want to use Fix 3, down the page a bit.

My "problem" is that I simply do not have the required hardware on my old
(and venerable) laptop. It simply can't install Win 11.

My pride and joy, highly spec'd (2015) W10 PC is super reliable, run PS quickly and seems seldom to have issues, but then I am not a downloader of rubbish apps. It is not compatible with W11.

Not a fan of W11 so I'll stick with what I have for as long as possible. Support finishing is not a worry (in the work context we had Vista PCs outhere still) but security updates may prod a replacement down the track.
