I hope these give you that "Aha moment" Grant.
I had to dig deep into my archives to find these - taken with a very early Olympus camera.

Horseshoe bay looking north-west towards Commodore Point.



And looking at the opposite end of the bay - the Jetty. Much loved by children - you may have even jumped off it yourself?

Hi Lyn, wow! Yes indeed, the first photo resonates, but not the second. Keeping in mind that I was a kid at Meadows Primary School from around 1958 through to 1962 and not for all of that time; Grades 1 to 5 but farmed off to Kalangadoo for periods due to family matters, so it's hard to capture how many times I went to Port Elliot, perhaps ~3 maybe.
