Hi all,
New member looking to join like minded peoples as I begin to ramp up into the wonderful world of the "semi-pro".
Being able to discuss and see how others operate in this arena will be a great addition to learning and seeing what suits the given situations that may eventuate.
Was lucky enough to get a photog pass to the Melbourne Laneway Festival a couple of weeks ago and this did whet the appetite for more of that type of thing ... sure, damn hard work (and hot!), but loved every minute of it.
Also have my first wedding coming up (I am the back up) and looking forward to that experience also.Apart from that I would call myself a generalist of sorts in what I shoot. Love getting out and about, be it it the city or bush. I surf too, so am always around the beach and taking shots there :)
Current gear includes:
Canon 7D
Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS II (shared with the GF)
Sigma 24-70mm 2.8
Sigma 50mm 1.4
Canon 2x Canon EF 2x III Extender (shared with GF)
Tripod & Monopod too
Ditched much of my entry level kit gear and am saving up next for either the Canon 35mm 1.4 ... or potentially the new Canon 24-70mm 2.8 mkII (maybe a little out of reach at the moment :) ).
From there it will be FF ... and well, I think I can wait a little for that and see what the future holds!Looking forward to participating.
