Planning on a sunrise shoot on Saturday the 11 at point Cartwright. I have shot in this location so many times but still feel like I can get better compositions here. Sunrise at 5:28 am civil light at 5:03 am. Low tide at around 4 am and high tide not until 10:00 am. It's looking good there is a possibility of rain as well but I want to take my chances. So if anyone is keen I will meet then at the parking lot at 4:00 am. We can have coffee or breakfast after.......

I'll see how I go - big day for me Saturday and getting up at 3.15am is not one of my strengths, but I've done virtually no sunrises this year and really need to get out and do some.
If I come I'll be there by 4am so if I'm not there at 4, don't stick around waiting!
Sure no worries I am expecting good conditions hopefully it does not rain.

Hi Dwarak,
Thanks for the heads up. I'm a real contender so I look forward to seeing you there. Are you travelling up on Saturday ot will you be overnighting - in which case you might be interested in some night shots, around Mooloolaba perhaps.
Cheers,
Patrick

Dwarak,
Which carpark are you going to use, the one at the top of the hill up near the lighthouse or the one down on the harbour level - this one leads out to the harbour wall.
I'll pm you my mobile number.
Cheers,
Patrick

Hopefully Dwarak sees this but I'm assuming the top carpark if I don't hear otherwise.
Sorry I guess top of the Hill car park is better

G'day Guys,
I didnt see this thread early enough Friday night as I didnt see the thread till about 11:30pm and the misses would not have been too happy with me setting the alarm without her having some warning. Oh well next time.
I have photographed there a few times, but always came home without anything worthwhile. Its quite a difficult place to get some good shots, especially on low tide (which it was when I was there each time).
Looking forward to seeing what you managed to get. If you didnt go for a walk around the park area along the river mouth, I've seen a few Sacred KF in there at daybreak and they are quite low to the ground.
Regards,
Craig

True Craig i was struggling with getting a good composition at low tide I have been here many times before but only in high tide which is easy to get some good shots today it was a challenge. I have posted some of my efforts but think they are only ok.
