Hi, I'm Jeanette. I'm here to learn to improve my skills in day time photography. But I'm hoping also to get started in ultra macro. Are there any of you here with experience in that? I'd really appreciate some advice on purchasing the right gear. I don't want to make any expensive mistakes.
I'm looking forward to browsing the forums first and see how things roll around here. See what I can learn before putting forward any repeat questions.

Welcome to AP. When you ask about macro, it is worth telling us what brand you use, as suggesting a good Nikon lens when you use Sony, is not going to be of benefit to you.

For regular macro I use my Tamron 90mm F2.8 with my Canon 550D. Ultra macro, I'll be hooking the camera up to a microscope to see what sort of critters are lurking in pond water.
