After reading Laz's thread about Morrisett (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showthread.php?98610-The-Road-to-Madness&p=976630#post976630) , it made me wanna go back there. I then started thinking what other cool places are out the and little known to us all.

If anyone wants to add to this feel free :)

Obviously the assylum - http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showthread.php?98610-The-Road-to-Madness&p=976630#post976630

Another place i found interesting was the Aberdare South Colliery - http://hosting.collectionsaustralia.net/newcastle/greta/abds.html

I done a little research on this place prior and actually found the sealed up mine shafts.

The Glebe burrial ground. Only a few headstones and crypts but pretty old and full of emotion. - http://www.maitland.nsw.gov.au/Heritage/Cemeteries/Glebe

I want to go have a look at "The Drip" (a little way down the page)

Other areas are "The Lost City" near Lithgow, and "The Glow Worm Tunnel" in the same area. Especially worthwhile is to walk right through to the end of the tunnel to the spectacular grotto.

Like trains? Richmond Vale Rail Museum (http://www.richmondvalerailwaymuseum.org/running-days/index.html). Also Steamfest (http://www.steamfest.com.au/) at the end of April.

Fort Scratchley (http://www.fortscratchley.org.au/events.html)?

If you want to go exploring you could maybe plan a drive up through some of the small villages in the Valley (e.g. Woodville, Paterson, Vacy, etc). I can't recall any specifics, but you would likely find old churches, bridges, pubs, etc.

Cheers.

Lived in Mudgee for a while now and never visited The Drip. have been to Hands On Rocks, which is very close. Happy to tag along with anyone that wants to head out there.(PM)
BTW The Drip may have a limited life span due to ever encroaching coal mines and their effect on ground water. :(
