Hi everyone,
I got myself a Canon 500D with the 18-55mm kit lens and a Canon 50mm f1.8 a couple of years ago and figured in between losing my mind with my three gorgeous kids at home I would fill the gaps losing my mind trying to work out how to work the camera....incidentally my mind is now lost but my shutter finger still works. ;)
I figure it will be slow going but once they're all at school I'll be ready to hit the ground running so while I wait I am doing an online diploma in photography and some short courses through RMIT. I love being in the classroom but time doesn't allow a full time course at the moment.
I hope to get a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM and maybe, just maybe a 5D Mk II (it's my birthday around the time my husband gets his bonus so I am STRONGLY hinting at this!).
I don't know exactly what type of photography I'd like to specialise in when I try my hand at making money from it but I'm taking loads of kids portraits at the moment. I don't mind it but I'd like to try some other things too. Anyway, I'm very much looking foward wading through the wealth of information on this site.
