Hi all

I am heading up to sydney next week and am looking to do some night time shots around the cbd .
Does any one know of any good vantage points ? Or something unusual to shoot ?

Cheers

Hey Kylie, check this post I did sometime ago, it may be of help to you, its more concentrated around the harbour bridge and the cliche sydney shots however...

Hi Gerry

Hey Kylie, from memory these were all with the nikkor 17-55mm.

Another good location is Centre point tower, if you get some good conditions for a sunset I reckon you could get some stunning shots from up there.

Good advice on locations, Gerry. I might just add that not far from the entrance to Luna Park (on the wharf/boardwalk there) is a good location for looking East, and therefore getting the West side (there's a story) of the bridge.

D G. Get to the bottom of Broughton St Milsons Point. From there you can walk under the HB and the North Pylon towards Luna Park. (See Google Map excerpt below.)
Another thing, you can get to the South Pylon of the SHB and go thru the museum/gift shop, and climb all the steps to the observation deck. It used to cost $5, but I suppose it's gone up. You can get there by train and then walking (a good bit).

Some other places are The Gap, Military Rd and Cliff St (parking there). You can see both ways, E and W back across Syd Hbr.
Nielsen Park/Shark Bay.
In fact, the drive from the city to Watson's Bay (on your way to The Gap) affords some nice views.
