I have been looking around here and just surfing the net. I have a new Manafrotto 334B monopod. I am a little confused in what head to get for this pod. I am hoping to use it to help me taking pics of birds. Appreciate any advice.
Thank you
How heavy a lens ?
There is the manfrotto head that's quite cheap, 234rc I think.

Thanks Darren, I will be using a sigma 400mm on the monopod.
234rc is a simple swivel, tilt choice for $60
:th3: for the 234RC. I have one.

Go for a ball head. If your 400mm has a tripod ring (I'm sure it will), then you can use the ball head a bit like a gimbal head, as in:

See the 3rd video down. Also, you are more likely to use a ball head on a tripod, when not on the monopod. The other one is unlikely to be as useful.
