View Full Version : Nudgee Beach Sunrise on the 17th of August
Hi Guys
Thinking of heading to Nudgee Beach on Wednesday the 17th of August. It's a public holiday in Brisbane (Ekka). Looks like low tide near sunrise and the weather man's saying it's be mostly fine (some clouds...) Sunrise is at 6:15 so will be there around 5:15.
Anyone care to join? I've been there but never figured out where the mangroves are - is it close to the car park?
Dam...I would have come but I have a doctors appointment at 9 and I wouldn't have enough time to organise everything. After that Ivan and I are thinking of heading to the mountains or to Lone Pine with Chloe. I hope you get a good sunrise DJ.
I may be able to head out! I have work in the morning but I think I could sneak out early.
Tentative yes.

Tempting, close"ish" to where I live, and do not start work until 10.00 ..... see what the weather does.
A couple of different places to do the sunrise, some trees straight out front from the car park, and more around the corner, any idea what tide times are?

Hi Mate would love to see you in the morning. Low tide's at 5.31AM (0.4m) and sunrise is at 6:16 (first light at 5:52AM). Tide at 6:16 is between 0.5 and 0.6m
Hi All - I have a (silly) question to ask...I had been to Nudgee beach about 2 years back and have forgotten the place to shoot Sunrise from. Can anyone tell me which road and where to park the car etc. please?
turn right into Fortitude street will get you into the carpark by the ramp.
Unfortunately I have to work during the week or I would have met you there.... it's been ages since I got a photo of the back of your head
Hope to catch up with you at another meet-up soon :)

Thanks Steve - in the map I can also see the end of Nudgee Road - is this any good at all - from memory this is where you can see the sand ripples - am I right?
You know what, I might try and make it too. I have only ever done one sunrise so far = last week at Redcliffe, so might like to get someone else's perspectives as well.
Hey DJ, I am going to try and come along as well, I dont know this area at all and have had a look at the maps and there would seem to be a couple of places that you can get to the beach so where abouts were you thinking of meeting?
cheers
Deb :scrtch:
sorry!! I just read the other threads properly so we will be meeting at the car park at the end of Fortitude St then? :o

Hi,
I am interested.
What time do you intend meeting?
Regards,
Gordon.
Will set the alarm clock and see if I can get there. -Jason
Thanks all for your interests so far. I'll be at the car park (end of Fortitude St) around 5:15 (latest by 5:30). Hope to have some good colours in the morning.
See you there...

Wondering how you all went this morning, looking forward to see your photos... Please let me know if you add some for viewing... Thanks...
apologies DJ, the gods conspired against me this morning, sick husband and very little sleep does not make a person hear an alarm at 4am, i must have flicked it off and gone back to dreamland...I hope that you had a productive morning and i look forward to seeing some photos!
