I have to break some bad news, your long lost great Aunt Maud has died. In her will though she has left you $10,000 with the stipulation that you must spend the money on something photography related.......

What would you do ?

Are you sure you're from kiwi land and not Nigeria ?

Oh, and my 10K would be spent on an African Safari.:D

Did she live in an African country where a lot of rich people die and leave me all their loot? (for a fee of course)

I'd but a couple of decent lenses. But I wouldn't tell the ball and chain. I'd tell here that Aunt Maud had just past her military fitnes test. :D

Even then, I would check to see that they were not sequentially numbered, marked bills

I would unhesitatingly adhere to her wishes.

Good to see you know the difference between hyperthetical and hypothetical Kiwi :D.

Money wise I'd have a nice new D3S and a 24 - 70 to go with it!

haaaaa....what a quandary Darren. :confused013 I`d probably go full frame with some nice lenses...:D

With my luck the $10K would be on her facebook, in some game like FarmVille, where I could only buy non-existant cows, pigs etc.

Seriously, I would probably look at buying at auction a photo from the past, that would increase in value. I am happy with my gear.

I would explain explain to the cook that a persons wishes should be adhered to out of respect and then leave her to respond to the cloud of dust left as I bolt of to the camera store. It just wouldnt be right to disrespect someone's wishes I think.

HC 35mm, HC 300mm, HC 1.7x teleconverter. That should eat up $10,000 very nicely! Then I would go and have FUN with my new goodies!

Well first up I'd never get extremely excited about a possible situation  (if anyone else notices it pipe up :P)

But hypothetically I would probably use it for the combination of another US stormchasing/national park trip, a new D4, and a 70-200 F2.8 with TC-17.

And I reckon I would be rather happy :P.

Donate it to anyone of the suitable children's charities so they can do something photography related. 10K worth of cheap cameras to lots sick or disadvantaged kids out there on the beach/park or whatever enjoying themselves is priceless.

first i would get a secondhand 1ds mk3 or a 1d mk4, a 70-200 2.8L. I would then spend the rest to go to the USA and shoot AMA motoX till the money ran out.:th3:

Decisions, decisions! Take the 10K, max out the CC, and then do BC, Alberta, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Tetons. Hmmmm.....on second thoughts I'll also have to put a second mortgage on the house...

Probably use it to fund some documentary work. Possibly tie it in with taking my girlfriend to Vietnam and finding her family who didn't leave after the war. :confused013
