focus lock beep

Hi all,
Anyone has experience in not getting the focus lock BEEP on D700? I had turn on the BEEP, but when I lock the focus (pressed half way on the shutter release), there is no beep at all. Wondering if it is a defect or this feature is removed from D700.
I missed the beep while I was on D70s.

You haven't accidentally switched to continuous focus? it won't beep on that setting.

Hi Lani,
Yes, I did set to S at the C-S-M knob next to the lens mount on the left/front.
The beep can be heard when I set the sound to L or H at CUSTOM MENU SETTING - DISPLAY - BEEP to H, L, or OFF.
But still, focus lock at S, no beep...

anything I missed?

That one took me a while to figure out a couple of years back too hmw. :D

As Lani said, it won't beep in continuous focus and the other setting that disables it is have focus set to release instead of focus. Custom setting menu A2 --- AF-S priority selection. :)
