Just wondering who else is going to this years event (http://abbeytournament.com/?gclid=COzBm7OVuakCFYlypAodEmpf9Q)
Kerri (kadon) and myself plan to go both days.
From people who have been to previous ones, from a "photographers" view what/ where are the best things to look out for there?
Thanks Dave

Dave
Hubby and I will be going one day, not sure yet. Went last year had a great time. Loved all the camp site for candids. The joust, but this year I want to go up in the stands for a different view.
Karen
I'm going! It looks like so much fun and I can't wait to get into the ye olde feel. I know there will be awesome photographic opportunities there and I was wondering the same thing as the OP - anything special to keep an eye out for?:th3:
I will be going Saturday. :)

Kerri, I hope your not going Saturday so you can come on Sunday. :D
Ian, I will let you know where we are? Can't wait to see you. :D
No Jules, Dave thinks one day should do him now - so that's why probably only going Saturday! Plus I have few things want to do on weekend.
But no not going down Fingal for sunrise Sunday (if that's what you mean???)
So is Noelene coming Saturday too still??? Let me know where to find you girls won't you. We'll have Dave's daughter tagging along - but she loves this kind of thing
Noelene isn't coming now. She doesn't think she will be up to it. I did mean the sunrise but I understand. I'll catch up one Wednesday soon ;)
okay jas will let you know when i get there. hope to get there early as well. :food04::) ian(aka pappa smurf:costumed70:)

It can be a busy place. LOTS of people. I'm not sure if you know anyone from AP yet. I use to wear the T.shirts but I know I will have a jumper on that day. If you want my mobile PM me and I will give it to you because I should be with a few menbers.

My first fair yesterday and how fabulous was it!!! Photographic bliss!
I wish I'd come to this forum sooner so I'd have known who to look out for. I wonder how many of you I saw but had no idea? So many fancy looking cameras! I took umpteen thousand pictures but I have only just arrived home (long trip back out west for me), so I'm not sure if I have anything to smile at. If I've managed something okay, I'll upload here.
Baram Batar!!
hi Becds, which day did you go? i was there saturday i was the middle age beer barrell on short legs with a canon, with a backpack with a small seat tied to it and a camera bag on the left side.:food04::) ian(aka pappa smurf:costumed70:)
Hi ian(aka pappa smurf)!! I went on Saturday. I would have loved to have stayed for both days but unfortunately Mister ds had to work Sunday afternoone, so we stayed at Margate overnight and raced home straight away on Sunday morning. I have never been to anything like it before but I was totally wrapped!
I'm not sure if I saw you. There were so many DSLR's out. Talk about camera-envy! I've been googling new cameras ever since I got home.
Did you stay for the night show?
BTW! I just realised you're from Dalby!!! I'm from Chinchilla!

Lol, from a reenactors point of view, I can assure you it was like being followed by the paparazzi... we felt kind of special lol hope no one was caught doing something embarrassing though :D

that's the camp! It looks amazing David!! It also makes lighting all of those candles worthwhile lol... not to mention the fire risk of all the hay on the ground, highly flamable stuff lol
