Looking at getting some "decent" wide angle zoom glass.
Seems to be plenty of options out there so looking for some advice please.

What I've got......
Camera - Sony A700
Current wide angle zooms - 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 Sony kit / 28-135 f/4.0-4.5 Minolta
Looking at something between the 10-35mm range.

What I've looked into so far.
Sigma 10-20mm - not a fan of Sigma but happy to be persuaded by those that know better.
Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 - looks good and a definite consideration
Tamron - 17-50mm f/2.8 - looks good and a definite consideration
Sony CZ - couple options here but hell expensive.... are they worth the money?????

Any other options out there for the Sony?

Hi Cap. I have a Sigma 10-20 and am very happy with it. Build quality and IQ are very very good. I took a very long time to decide which UWA to purchase. There are lots of reviews and comparo's on the net to help you. The Tokina certainly rates very well also. The Tammy would only be replacing your kit lens in focal lengths but giving you better specs. Spend some time on the net and then go down to your local store and try out your choices. Best of luck.

ps. Dont be affraid to quote internet prices to retailers, as I have found that you will save a lot of $$$.

If you are looking for proper UWA or WA then youve pretty much hit the nail on the head with the 10-20 or the 11-16. If you are really serious and think you can handle/want the widest angles, then maybe the Sigma 8-16 is for you (effective on crop sensor 12-24, as compared to 15-30, 16.5-24). I use the Sigma 10-20 and am very happy with it and its performance, its pretty much indispensible on my crop sensor camera. Part of the attraction is the fact it is wider than any of the Nikon offerings in my case. I have no experience with the CZ wides, so your guess is as good as mine.

Hi Cap I am another one for the Sigma I have the 10-20 and am very pleased with the quality and performance. I would also look at the Sigma 8-16 if I were buying now.

For UWA glass, does regular thickness CP will produce vignetting?
