Hi All,

I would like to purchase a new telephoto zoom to replace my old EF 80-200 USM. I have a Kenko Pro 300 2X teleconverter that I would like to use with the new lens, the old EF works with the Kenko but I would like some more zoom and IS/OS.

I have recently purchased the Sigma 10-20mm EX, and it is a great lens, which has me leaning towards the Sigma. So I'm interested in your views regarding the Canon 70-300 and the Sigma 70-300 and which one I should consider.

Cheers,
Tom.

I've had the Canon 70-300 IS USM and disappointed with it. I would look at the new Tamron SP 70-300 USM - it has had great reviews.

I would look at the tamron 70-300 too, the reviews are very positive.

I really enjoy the Canon :).

I keep trying to talk myself into changing to something else but for the size, price and results I've got I can't justify it.

Here some shots I've taken with it.

Thanks for the examples Sean. I have now included the Tamron in this competition after checking out a few reviews and having a look at it today. For the price it seems to be the best bang for buck.

Any more comments or sample pics from these three lens?
Cheers.

Have just bought a new 70 - 300 Canon Zoom...... the seller hadn't even used it... a bargain for $370 considering the quality of the images produced. Please let me know what you finally purchased and if you were happy with your choice.
