Hi All,

I have Nikon D90 and lens nikon 35mm f1.8 and tokina 11-16mm f2.8.

I am starting to do a lot of night shots and with the slow shutter speed, I noticed that after clicking a picture for example at 30 seconds, my camera will be processing the picture for about 5-10 seconds and displaying 'job nr'.
At this time. I could not take any picture or do anything.
After 5-10 seconds, the job nr will disappear and the picture I just took will be displayed.

A friend has the same camera and tokina lens and hers doesnt do this.
After hers clicked at 30 seconds, it only took the camera like 2 seconds to display the picture she just took.

Anyone knows why this is happening and how to fix it?

Thank you so much in advance
:)

It's doing noise reduction

Job NR is the camera performing noise reduction after any long exposure, i am sorry but i do not know where you would turn it off on a D90.

HI Kiwi and Viper,

Thanks for the quick reply. Ah NR stands for Noise Reduction. That gives me a piece of mind that there is nothing wrong with my camera.

I always shoot my nightshot at ISO 200, do you know why my camera still does noise reduction?
and will this job makes my picture quality better or not different because I shot at ISO 200?

And if anyone could shed a light how to turn it off on a D90 that would be great?
Because I shipped my D90 manual and box as I am going back for good soon in the next 2 weeks.

Thank you
:)

You should be able to find the d90 online manual, or just google job NR
