After a tough year on the work front I decided to give myself an end of year bonus, 7D 40 months interest free from Harvey Norman and a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM from DWI Digital Cameras. First up I gotta say I am mightily impressed with DWI, best price I could find, very quick delivery and excellent communication.
I also LOVE my new body and lens. I had a shocker with my old 450D at the Fingal meet yesterday so it was a real lifting of the spirits when the new lens turned up today. I couldn't wait for the work day to finish so I could have a bit of a play. Below is one I am very happy with, straight off the camera into Aperture 3, posted to Flickr and then to here. Absolutely no pp performed by me and for a quick play shot I think I am going to have a new best lens!

Hi Julie-Anne, all the best for the New Year to you! Yep, really excited, I LOVE this new gear. It is a whole new world. I am still amazed at some of the things it can do. "A widey" meaning wide angle? Thinking of something different to the 10-22mm or am I missing something? We must catch up on a shoot soon. :)

Hey Outcast, sorry for the delay in getting back to you I was playing with apertures and ISO indoors seeing as it is raining here and I didn't notice your post. I also had to go rummage through the garbage as in my excitement I threw out the packaging with the sales receipt. The total on my invoice including all charges, paypal surcharge and shipping etc is $979.96. Just under the $1000.00 and no additional charges were made.
DWI were excellent. Great communication, tracking number could only be improved if it was in video televised live, and very quick delivery. Their price was the cheapest I could find and they have an agent in Australia you can ring with any questions. I will definitely buy from them again.
Yeah, widey meaning Wideangle. I seen where you wrote from your last shoot that you will have to invest in one. They are great if you are into landscapes. So save your penny's.
Yeah It's been a while since we have caught up. Will have to do it soon. When this rain racks off. :)

(Hope nobody on here works for the ATO). I might have paid quite a bit more than that and they might have just put the price down to avoid GST charges. :p

I am considering a 1.4 or 2x extender, any thoughts on these Julie-Anne?
