developing XP2 in LC29 and rapid fixer

I searched the internet for anyone developing xp2 in b&w chemicals and not much came up.
I had used a roll of xp2 without knowing it was colour process, so i tried to develop with the lc29. Developed a little longer than you would a roll of hp5. It seemed to develop well, but the rapid fixer did not work very well, even after 1 hour of fixing it was still opaque and purple, but this reduced a bit when dried. I think this will lead to some loss of contrast in the print, however I am happy with the overall result.

Why didn't you just get it processed like a normal colour film? You could have had that done anywhere that still processed film, or posted it if you had to.

Most places I've had film processed can "process only", ie no prints are provided, so the processing alone is normally quite cheap. You can then scan or print from the neg if you want.

I suppose it depends on what you call really expensive, are we talking 35mm film

We charge a meagre $6.50 for develop only on 35mm film, developed and cut into strips of 6 in the neg pouches

I guess this is a cheaper home-job way of doing it if you already have the chemicals mixed up from doing other films.
I did not intentionally get this film, but was included when purchasing some other items, so i thought i might as well use it :)
