New to digital, so I'm wondering if you get any colour changes or increased saturation during long exposures like film does (ie Velvia) ?

The effects you get with film are due to reciprocity FAILURE and the way the 3 colour layers behave differently relative to each other and relative to time. This doesn't happen with digital, although, very long exposures create a potentially massive amount of noise as the sensor heats up and plays up as a result. It's not a good look. Leave your lens cap on and take a 30 minute long exposure to see what I mean.

Thanks JJ. I've done a few long exposures, but not 30 minute ones so haven't had any noise yet. I'll have to get out and try it.
