Hi
I've been requested to quote on a shoot and a print of a Harley motorbike - the thing is he wants it big real big like 2m x 1m print
(or in proprtion to a 6 x 4 if neccessary)
Question is having never printed this big whats the best way to print and what would the various costs be - he wants it for his wall in his house (he has big walls...) or where to go for a quote...
I'm think maybe some sort of vinyl print ??
Any help would be appreciated
not sure if this helps you Jeff, but a member on another forum i frequent has recently started up this business http://www.amazing-walls.com.au/
whether he does custom prints or not is something i don't know.

In a 3:2 ratio, it would be say 1.5m x 1m, or 3m x 2m.
Getting something that big in a single print is going to be difficult, not to mention extortionate, and somewhere offshore like the USA is likely to be your best bet.
I think Epson make a large format machine to 64" (1.625m) so a print 1.625m x 2.437m(95") (approx 3:2) is possible, but who has such a beast is going to be the issue, and how deep this clients pockets are..
Edit: Just found that a 60" wide x 60" long (you can get any length as they use roll paper for these sizes) on gloss photo paper will set you back US$288 + freight. Usually they charge per in2 or cm2 for things this size....
Jeff, digital works in Melbourne will print 40 x 60 inches and 60 x 90 inches at realistic prices.

i got a few pictures printed at officeworks.
A1 size, 80cm x60cm was $26. The paper is fairly thin, similar to normal poster paper. It is also not water fast, so getting it wet is not an option.
You can get upto B0 which is 140cm x 100cm = $70.
Might be something to consider.
My wall with some picture i have printed. The big one is A1.

Fantastic service, guaranteed work - big thumbs up from me.
I'd be recommending your client goes for a canvas - would look really nice.
