Make sure it is set to single shot as at 10fps it doesn't take long to finish a roll of HP5.

+1 for that. I put my F5 on full speed and went through half a roll of cheap stuff in about 2 seconds... I meant to do it, but still...

Anyway, nice buy, hope you enjoy using the beast.

Nice score,

I am still on the look out for a larger body, I have a 3000v at present, have been thinking EOS 5 maybe.

I'd love to give an eos 5 a go! Especially the sight controlled focus points!! Also look at the eos 1v! There's one of those in eBay at the moment as well as a bunch of 1n's!

I have a couple of 1V's. I just sold a PB-E2 booster and an NP-E2 battery a month ago so one of them was a 1VHS. The 1V is a brilliant camera and in my opinion the best 35mm AF film camera that we will ever see considering that no one is developing these any more.

I have the EOS3 and have had the EOS5 too. The eye focus its pretty much a gimick unfortunate :(

Great idea. Doesn't work as well in real life even when calibrated

yeah i thought that when i first ever heard about them. like, what if you were just checking composition and then the camera AF's to a different point on the scene!

but would still be interesting to have a go with!

the eos 3 and 1v are quite similar from what i've read, with the 1V having a few clear advantages over the 3.

The EOS 3 has the ability to learn eye position, I found it worked quite well but only after I had run the focus program quite a number of times.

The trick to using the camera is to compose the shot, hold the camera still, look at the focal point and then hit the shutter. Once you get used to the procedure it happens very quickly and automatically. I will never part with my 3!
