Hi
The SW150 Filter Holder is designed to specifically fit the Nikon 14-24mm lens. It is now being advertised as a kit. The Starter Kit contains a Filter Holder, Adaptor Collar for the lens and a 0.6ND (2-stop) Hard Graduated filter.

At present I have no graduated filters or ND filters. What other filters should I consider to go with the kit 0.6 GND filter for landscape photography.

I am assuming the new holder will take at least two filters. should I be looking at soft edge and what density's. Would I need colours :)

Hi and welcome to AP :D

For landscapes. Polariser, ND Grad 2/4/8 and ND 2/4/8, which I think with Lee are 0.3/0.6/0.9

Thanks Rick.

Lee Filters do not have a Polariser in this size (150mm X150mm). However, they are selling (150 x 170mm GDN) 0.3/0.6/0.9 hard and soft edge GBP 77 +tax, and (150x150mm ND) 0.3/0.6/0.9 filters @ GBP85 +tax.
If you include the starter kit @ GBP270 you are looking at $1475 + postage.

So that's a fair price for filters for one lens! Assuming I my wish to spend a little less. What do I really need out of those 9 available filters. Also considering I have to carry them on walks?:)

I cart a huge pile of filters with me, even on walks. I have polariser, 3 x ND, 3 x ND Grad, Big stopper, tabacco Grad, Blue Grad, holder and adaptor rings for different lenses. It all weighs less than my 17-35mm lens.

What do you really need? Hard to say as we don't know what you shoot. if you shoot waterfalls, creeks etc, the ND's. If you shoot sunrises, sunsets the ND Grads.

If you read carefully with a different sized adapter you can run this system onto other lenses, granted its a little larger than the normal size, but would make it infinitely more applicable. If you were looking to drop back do as rick suggests and think what you want to shoot. And accumulate them over time once you decide what you want now, and what you can wait for. From the way I read it unfortunately there are no plans to do a CPL that fits as its too big a problem. I was sort of hoping they might do an IR :P.
