View Full Version : My Pond Is Full of Tadpoles!

I built myself a small pond a few years ago, hoping to attract tadpoles. And for a few years none turned up. Very disappointment! But today it's full of these little critters. I think Green Tree Frog...?

Same thing happened to me last December over night I had 100's of taddies in my birdbath. Lots of them stayed taddies for more than 6mths, unbelievable...I don't think they wanted to grow up & leave my birdbath! :th3:

You know frogs are an indication of a healthy environment, yay! I remember collecting them as a kid, mum would let us put them in a small tank we had and once they got their legs we would take them back where we found them. Are you going to take photos as they develop?

We have three frog ponds, all full of tadpoles atm :D

This Western Burrowing Frog was on our front grass last night

I wish you people with taddies lived closer to me - I'd love to get some for the kids. Everytime we look for them in waterways, we don't find a single thing and we do try different times of the year too.

wow!! we get frogs coming up our very steep driveway when it rains here. we are fairly close to the river too. My husband catches them and brings them in for my 4 year old to see. I never have the camera at the ready though..

I just checked my pond & I have another set of Motor Bike frog tadpoles again (looks like 100's!) they are a bit bigger than a speck of pepper atm :)

The first batch are all frogs now, but there's a bunch of new tadpoles too. Same kind.

Hoping to photograph a frog some time.
