I would like to buy the Kenko extension tubes (set of 3) and the Kenko teleconverter 1.4x but have read conflicting reports over the compatibility of the extension tubes with EF-S lenses and the teleconverter with the EF 70-300mm IS lens. The only EF-S lens I use is the recently purchased 15-85mm and I probably wouldn't be using the tubes on it anyway, but would love to get a bit more reach on the 70-300mm lens with the teleconverter. Is it right that the Canon teleconverter will only work on an L lens?
Hi Carole, I use the Kenko 1.4 teleconvertor on my EF 70-200 L F2.8, it works 90% of the time. Do have the odd focus issue with it, but if I use it as a straight convertor and MF on my 70-200 L it's a gem, Only worries me in AI Focus mode, which I find I can normally live without using.
Sorry havent tried it on my EF-S lens, so I cant help you there.
But would recommend it for a quick focal lenght fix, price against Fast L glass in larger focal lenghts.
Same here - I ahve used the Kenko 1.4 with 70-200 F4L and it works very well. I have had no focusing issues.

I use the Kenko with my 70-300 and get auto focus all the way up to 280-290mm.
It's only at 300 I loose auto focus.

Thanks to everyone for their comments, they really have helped. Now for the good bit - deciding where to buy them from :)

I'm not sure about the teleconverter, but I have used the kenko extension yubes on both my EF and EF-S lenses, autofocus is lost almost all the time so manual focus is a must but the new kenko DG tubes are compatable with the EF-S lenses...
