Hi all,

Sorry if this has been covered but i could not find it on Dr Google or Ausp.

Anyone know of an easy way to get windows to hide *.xmp files?

Each of my *.crw files has an associated *.xmp which clutters up explorer. I figure if I can make Windows treat the *.xmp as a system file it will hide it for me, but couldn't find out how to do this for a file type (doing it for a single file is easy).

Thanks.

attrib is the command line tool - but this sounds like a bad idea

Better to use a proper image viewer. My favourite is PMView - http://pmview.com - but there are many others.

Thanks for the replies. Yes Kym, perhaps not a good idea... it is just a bit annoying at times.

I keep all my RAW's on one HD and once finished copy the JPEG to another. I usually browse via Lightroom which filters out the XMP files. I learnt my lesson recently by not saving the XMP files; I was using the lightroom database and moved the folder and then bam lost all my develop profiles. Not my brightest moment.

I will try PMView and see how it goes. Thanks!
