If you want to shoot for longer than 30 seconds its easiest to get a cable release, you can get cheaper ones off ebay that do the same thing.

I'd second the ebay option. I bought one not long back from ebay for about $10 delivered and works fine.

The TC-80N3 is an Intervalometer (or 'remote timer' in Chinglish). It does much more than just holder the shutter open when you are shooting in B (bulb). If all you want is to do long bulb exposures then it is a waste of money, just buy one of the ebay cable releases as mentioned previously. On the other hand if you want to do time lapse, then an Intervalometer ('remote timer' in Chinglish oe Ebay-speak) is the way to go.

Thanks guys, I always wondered about the ones on ebay, I'll go out and get myself one, cheers
Raaf, This is what I brought, Works a treat, about $90.00, cheaper than the Canon, covers all the aspects that the Canon devices do, Very happy with it.

I bought one of these for around $50 last January. It works well.
