ND400 vs ND500 filter

Hi Guys - I am intending to buy either the ND400 or ND500 filter. When I search in ebay, there are quite a number of ND400 including Hoya; however for ND500 (which apparently is a real 9 stop) only a company called Light craft workshop sells it.

Also there is the 'Fader' kind that you can rotate to get between a 2 stop and 9 stop in the same filter (although reviews say that this is more for video photography but can be used for normal photography as well).

Any idea which is the way to go?

To confuse matter more. I'm happy with the B+W 110 nd, giving you 10 stops. Also found on ebay.

That alone would also make me weary of buying light craft workshop.

fader doesn't work wide.
the ND500 from LCW looks good, but can't find any reviews

ND500 over ND400:
thinner
cheaper

both coated, but little details...

DDP have the Hoya ND400 - I'm pretty happy with it as a 9-stop filter except for the mild to moderate colour cast.

I've never noticed any colour cast from the Hoya ND400. Happy as Larry with mine.
