I was asked about this recently and did a blog with some tests (http://desmonddowns-ttlblflash.blogspot.com/2010/09/moving-focus-point-can-affect-flash.html) proving that the flash output can change in certain situations when the focus point is moved :smile:

Hmmm, that is a significant difference. Might have a bit of a play myself.
i can vouch for this happening with Nikon, absolutely true. will post examples tomorrow

There will be a difference almost always with TTL-BL when the actual focus distance changes which is normal . This particular setting is an isolated incident with regard to the meter leaving the centre and moving to under-exposure simply because of a move in focus points .
