D300s dual slot Q?

AFAIK D300s is the only with dual slots. When doing fps shooting, does this help it write to disk faster, or does it make no diff?

No! The dual slot is used like the following,depending on how you set the camera up

Fill card one, then fill card two
Fill card one, backup copy to card two
Fill card one with RAW, fill card two with JPG

So it doesn't make writting to the card any faster.

i wonder if having to save to two cards at the same time (if that's what you are doing) means the buffer takes longer to clear, therefore filling quicker, therefore slowing down shooting. I wonder.

On my D3 I didn't notice much difference. But I used two identical 300x CF cards so that may have helped. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think SD cards are generally slower and are kinda there for storage.
