Sigma 10-20mm ex dc hsm f3.5 vs 4-5.6

I'm going to take the plunge and get a Sigma 10-20mm for my Pentax. I notice there are 2 types in the EX DC HSM range, the f3.5, and the f4-5.6, besides the obvious faster speed, can anyone tell me why I should pay the extra for the f3.5?? Better image quality???

I have the 3.5 version

It feels better built...

It has a larger diameter threat.

Not sure if it really justifies the $$$$ but, It felt more comfortable.

They took a great lens & well changed it - but why and they keep selling the older version. If it was optically better then maybe, I recently bought the older version as I could not justify extra dollars.

I think the jury is still out.

I have seen a few reviewers claim the older slower 4-5.6 version is optically better at 10mm, beyond that they are pretty much the same.. I guess if you don't need the constant 3.5 it may be worth saving the money and getting the older version..

BTW.. I was always very happy with the 10-20mm f4-5.6 when I had it in Pentax mount..
