So many options...I'm been using my 7d now for about 2 months, and I still dont really understand all of this. Generally I've been using one shot/single point focus (centre). But the other week I was photographing dogs at an agility trial, and used servo ai and automatic af - and it seemed to handle the situation pretty well.

Yes it takes a while to figure it all out. This camera perfoms much better than my 450D especially when it comes to AI servo. There are a number of custom functions like the AI servo sensitivity or speed, and tracking priority etc that I'm still fiddling with too.
