We changed the poll system a long time ago to have exactly X choices on multi choice
to support the old way of doing comps.

I'm going to allow from/to number of choices on multi choice polls. Maybe later in the week.

I have a Gary Fong by default because the collapsible one I bought broke and I had to exchange it for something to get my money back.
However, despite the exorbitant price, it doesn't work any better than the one my husband made for me for free from a juice bottle wrapped in a sheet of polystyrene type foam.
I think you should have a "home-made" option in the poll. :)

If you can just choose maybe based on the closest fit with the type of the diffuser without getting too carried away with the brandm whether home made or not :-)

I have some cheapy one off ebay but found that when bouncing , I just end up taking it off anyway because it ended up leaking light on to the subject directly.
before that , a rubber band and some wrapping tissue paper ;P

On camera, I dont use one. Get in the way too much, unless it's the Stofen style, but then I find they don't do much other than fall off all the time.

Off camera, got a couple of brollies.

Well for one shot today, we used a woman's paper parasol.

I just purchased the sto-fen omnibounnce and it works reasonably well indoors with appropriate bounce objects (ceiling/walls) although still a little harsh.

I'm going to be shooting at a graudation (think people/portraits outdoors in the evening) where the sto-fen so looking for a nice soft diffuser also... portable and not too expensive.

Perhaps the lumiquest softbox?

I have a lot to learn on flash photography and appropriate bounce angles/techniques/diffusers :)

For on-camera flash I'd be more inclined to use a bounce card than a sto-fen type diffuser. You get forward bounce and ceiling bounce when using a card. Sto-fens are great if there are walls close by as they scatter light everywhere - but you easily lose a stop or more.

I generally only shoot with off-camera flash, and I use umbrellas, softboxes and a light tent.
