I remember before the 70's most SLR cameras were in "silver" finish.
Black bodies came into the market posing a "professional" appearance, and buyers have to pay extra for a black body.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a K7 - if I come across on of these gorgeous creatures on ebay I do think I may pay a wee bit more ;)
