My Olympus E-P1 and 20mm lens were clearly outgunned by some of the bigger lenses...

It is always good to see AP members out and about enjoying the scenery and socialising, the images from the day look great. :th3:

Of course, not knowing Sydney or the surrounds very well I had no idea about the meet up point and it wasn't till this morning that a news item (http://www.theage.com.au/nsw/sydney-nudists-raided-at-little-congwong-20100222-ooa2.html) caught my attention featuring Bare Island that I found out the reason behind it's name.

I am sure there weren't any AP members involved  ---- or were there? :D

never a good mix, nudists and a pack of photographers and the police, surprised there are not any "action" shots to show ;). Great shots by the way, love the rock formations and texture of the bridge, looks like a great site. Worth a revisit perhaps for a sunset series. Well done people.

No most of us were too busy to see whether the blonde girl doing the modelling shoot was going to get her gear off... :)

Police said legal nude bathing beaches located in the Sydney metropolitan region included Lady Bay Beach at Watsons Bay and Cobblers and Obelisk Beach at Middle Head.they need somthing south too :)

To be truthful, those photos were far too over-exposed to publish but we have printed them out and keep them in a drawer for future reference.

Having been born and raised in Sydney I was well aware of the adjoining beach, people can be easily seen on the beach from Bare Island with a 300mm lens but not with the "naked" eye.

Try Werrong Beach south of the Royal National Park.

Sorry; that was all my fault. I insisted on getting out my 300mm Can(n)on, but the police told me to put it away.

The site is very accessable and I will be returning once I get some wider glass. A great spot for both dawn and sunset.

It's a pity we missed the police raid on the nudists.

I have just written a free photo guide to La Perouse and Bare Island (http://knol.google.com/k/xenedis/photographer-s-guide-to-la-perouse-and/sm5v416l90qy/4).

Hopefully this will be helpful for anyone else planning to shoot this location.
