ah but I seem to remember how you put him there in the first place, first librarian on the moon and his trusty assistant, probably launched on a straw propulsion vehicle as per this thread (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=2191) if you look closely, beside the launch vehicle you can see the cans of rocket propulsion fuel....
