My Hard Drive was renamed to: fgh87po9876[][po87654323456789[]

How could this have happened? I'm new-ish to macs and would like to know if this is some sort of evilness, or a massive coincidence. How could you feasibly rename the drive without actually clicking on it with the mouse? Weird!

Also anyway of finding out when the drive was renamed? May be if I can put it down to a time and place that might provide me with an answer.

Cheers.

Macbook Pro wth OSX v10.5.8 btw....

I don't have any animals. Maybe something fell on top of it... multiple times! This ones got me confused, and tbh a little concerned!

I posted it on another mac forum. I just figured there is likely to be a few mac users here and they may have an idea too.

Just rename it back, used to work at a mac store and had this issue come up once a day

Select the HD icon and go Cmd I to get information on the drive, you could have selected it without noticing! I have done that with a file before, more careful these days! Just rename it.
