View Full Version : Tripod Shadow Removal
First rule of Photography If sun is behind you you will leave a shadow:eek:.
The question is is this to big to hide with PS or if not what is a good way of doing it? It isnt a very good picture but I would like to keep it for the interest. I do have the raw file.

Thanks Pete
It actually looks like a monkey doing pushups with the camera above its head to me....but maybe that's just the heat getting to me.:D
If you are using photoshop, zoom in on the shadow area and just use the patch tool, or clone tool, sampling from different areas outside of it to get rid of the dark part.

Hey Prang. In CS2 I used selections, Selective Color, Air Brush, and Spot Healing Brush and about 10 minutes to get this. It's a bit rough - I'd need about 1/2 aqn hour - but will it start to do? Am...

Lani,
I like the crop, it does make it a nice photo.
Sorry, a bit off topic but may I ask: Is that a whale bone or a rock? Or other?
Whatever it is, its a very intriguing object.
Yeah Swifty it is a Whale bone it seems to be part of the head.
It was washed up on Nanarup Beach in Albany WA.
Here is a diferent view of it http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showthread.php?t=43311 .
That does look a lot better Lani thanks.
