OK I need some help with what might be going on here ... :confused013

Im leanring about actions and batch processing at the moment and something a little weird is going on.

I have set up an action called "Watermark (web landscape)" which includes adding a border, a web address, and a do not print watermark.

Now Ive noticed that when running the action over a set of images, some are coming out nicely and some are coming out with very small font watermarks.

The images below were part of a batch that i ran the action on and this was the result. Disregard the photos thenselves as these were just bin files that I watned to test the action on (the processing is terrible, hence why they were in the bin !! :p)

I at first thought it might have something to do with the pixel dimesnions in the original files that were opened in PS but they are both identical, 1024x685

Any idea why one watermark is coming out smaller than the other ?? :confused013

Have a look at your image resolution and especially the DPI setting. Even though the images may have exactly the same x and y axis size, if the DPI is different (I.E., one was set at 300dpi and the other set at 72dpi), the font size will vary greatly. I had exactly the same issues when I first started using PS

ahhhh of course !!!! Thanks mate .. without even looking I reckon youre spot on. Heres why :o

When I edit in GIMP, in the final stages I always save 2 files, one at full resolution (300ppi) and one at 1024x ...., for web. Now after ive saved the hi res file, I resize down to 1024 but never change the ppi, and just save it as it is at 300. :o

So after checking it seems that one of these was changed to hi res 300ppi at some point and the other wasnt .. Mystery solved, thanks Ash. :)

Good work Hoffy. One of the things I like about AP, is how helpful everyone is to others when they know the answer to something.
