For all those interested, David Hobby is about to start Bootcamp II over on the strobist.com site. He will be posting 4 challenges over the coming months, then reviewing/discussing the results on his blog. For anyone getting into strobist photography this should really help.... Don't forget to read his strobist 101 and strobist 201 blogs as well

Well the first assignment has been announced. Looks like an interesting concept the whole Financial downturn. Interesting that David says this will be the only assignment we need to shot an actual human being.

I say we all post up our results here as we go. Bit of an Aussie Strobist group. Help each other out as much as we can.

So glad my new Canon 430ex arrived yesterday.

Just uploaded my entries into Boot Camp II Assignment 1.

So my subject for the shoot was my wife Anna who is just about to finish a Masters of Environment - Education for Sustainability.

So I had my subject but now I had to decide on how I wanted to shoot her and where. Considering Anna is in the environmental field I wanted to give her a natural and warm look. The assignment also happened to begin while we were preparing to go on holidays to the bottom of Australia. At first i was worried the holiday would stop me from getting the assignment done but then it dawned on me. We are going to a massive national park with prehistoric ferns. What better environment to shoot in to convey my subjects passion.

Check out more info on the shoot at my blog thephotojourney (http://www.thephotojourney.com/2009/06/22/headshot-boot-camp-ii/)

Very well done scottie, the lighting on this looks very good

Man I am so not going to achieve this, don't have ready access to models and the wife is less than helpful sometimes.

Still have today to complete this so I might just see if I can grab some random and shoot them. Here's hoping
