Post editing

This is a photo of one of my white fantails in flight. I haven't done anything to it, but should I?

Do all digital pics need some type of post processing?

Yeah I'd sharpen a tad more.....a "high key" edit may be the go with this kind of image I reckon :)

Assuming you have Photoshop I'd add a levels or curves adjustment layer and brighten the bird up a little, you'll blow out the sky but we'll fix this next. While holding the Alt key (cmd for Mac), press the layer mask button to add a black mask. Now select a white brush, adjust the size and opacity (70%??) to suit and brush only over the bird to reveal the changes done by the layer mask.

Also recommend a sharpen as mentioned above.

the bird has a slight blue cast and it would be cool if you could bring out some of the tones in the sky to add dynamics and atmosphere. Here is an example:

I realize that I killed the blue sky, but if you could work some of the tones of the clouds into it, it will become very dynamic.

Not sure if I even like it myself now; anyway just an idea; mainly used the shadow/highlight tool for the bird. Its a good photo worth a bit a twinkle

The dark/light halo is usually pretty off putting though
