View Full Version : Saving PSD from LR
When a file (including PSD) is opened from LR into CS4 the default saving file is TIFF. Is there away to make PSD as the default saving file.
At the moment; when I save a file in PS I have to go >save as>save as PSD>save. I have to do this even with a PSD file which does seem weird.
I just can't go Ctrl+S while working because it saves as a TIFF :confused013
I'm about ready to drop CS4 and go back to CS3. Any comments??

OK Ian.
In Lightroom, Go to menu
Edit > Preferences > External Editor
In there you need to change the fileformat to PSD. What is happening at present is Lightroom is sending the file to CS4 as a TIFF, and therefore when you finish editing in CS4, the only way to make it a PSD is go File, Save As, cause its a TIFF file to start with.
So change the settings in LR, and then it will be a PSD in CS4 automatically.

Cheers Rick; I knew there was a button or three somewhere the clicks on.
