Photo filesize down to 250kb

Hi Everybody. I seem to have forgotten how and where to resize a photo for posting. Particularly to get photo down to 250kb. Your help would be very helpfull. Thanks.

When saving as a jpg you will have the otion to change the quality will determine the file size

Without saying what software, there's not much you can say about how quality settings impact IQ and size. If you use BDSizer (http://www.idimager.com/?page=freeware), you can tell it to generate a JPEG with pre-set filesize as well as image size.

Euhm... BDSizer is freeware, there is no "trial version" - you may use it forever without paying as much as a dime for it! ;)

Ooops ! I downloaded idimager by mistake which I am still impressed with
I've downloaded BDSizer as well, so I'll try that too & make my mind up later on

Maybe, (If it hasn't already been done) this site could have a software review forum, possibly under 'Product Review - Software' ? Even a Freeware and a Payware section... just a thought ;)

As a Nikon Capture NX user, when resizing a photo to the right dimensions for forum use I had to "guess" what file size would be generated by adjusting a quality percentage slider.

My ancient copy of Photoshop goes one better in that it shows me the file size generated at the "quality level" applied.

BDSizer on the other hand trumps them both by allowing an EXACT file size to be user generated, no "guessing" as Capture NX forces you to do and not putting up with Photoshop telling ME how many KBs I must have at a particular image size.

The frames and easily inserted exif data will prove useful down the line for me as well.

All round it has to be one of the best pieces of software I have seen for a while and as freeware it represents the "ultimate value" too.
