I have been using photoshop since getting my first dsr.
yesterday I was playing with my latest posted image.
I selected the sharpening icon (triangle) and started to apply it on the image
by a fluke i noticed it has a drop down menu, which has a few options in it
for me this is a revelation, as i often wonder how much sharpening i should apply
with this new knowledge a whole new world opens up
the thought also occurs to me as to how many such jems are hiding in there.

Nice find.
Photoshop is such a powerful app that the majority of users only use about 10% of its capability, no matter what their chosen field is. Even very experienced photo retouchers don't use 100%.

I agree, I feel Lightroom is going that way too.

OTOH, I found out about the tool tips options when using Photoshop 4 - around 389 BC :D

There is a sharpening icon? Never seen it. Then again, there are a couple of million ways of skinning the same cat in Photoshop.
