View Full Version : Get checked
Didn’t realise she could punch so hard.
Went and had a skin check, they found a melanoma and had it cut out, go back next week to make sure they got it all.
Dont be complacent have a skin check

I do - about once every 18 months, which is about the frequency that the specialist can
tolerate my unfounded concerns. However, he does then say to come in whenever I'm
uncertain. Anyway, enough about me, won't you elaborate on that shiner? - Or am I to
invoke a belligerent boxing (female) kangaroo? :p

18 months hmmm he must be very patient
Good to know you do get regular checks, I am now after this.
All I said was the roast pork was dry and chewy, next thing I’m picking myself up off the floor.
Actually the shiner is a result of them cutting out so much of my face, I asked if they could pull it up a bit tighter and tie it up past my forehead, unfortunately not.

great message there Axle, i get checked every 6 months. i'm prone to BCCs
this message is very hard to get through to some people, especially the young
i hope your check up is clear, and that you have no further problems
cheers

Well done mate. I've never been checked; I'm an idiot.

Jim it’s not my place to call you an idiot,,,,but your an idiot,,,,,and so am I for being complacent and thinking it won’t happen to me but it did and with a 30mm slice of my face removed and 11 stitches it is a big wake up call.

The skin specialist goes over inch of my crappy white anglo skin annually. Have done the Effidex treatment a few times. Not nice but necessary. Bits and bumps cut off and out over the years. A big one in the chest in the shirt V and a bigger one (say 20c size) on the top of my hand. I now wear very unfashionable driving gloves from the skin cancer association. Also have UV50 tint on the car which is fantastic.
Hats, sun shirts, long sleeves, etc are the go. Like colonoscopies, a pain in the whatsit but the alternative is worse.

Good to hear you stay on top of this thing and as you say the alternative is much worse, it was a shock for me to hear that word so like you I will be getting regular checks.
Stay well.

I'm glad to hear they got it all Al and good advice re the checks. Thankfully I have skin that never tanned so was never a fan of lying in the sun in my youth so to date have escaped but hubby has had a few BCCs removed.
