View Full Version : Photo copying problem
Not sure where I should post this one.
Hey guys having trouble with my copying photos and posting them.
I take a photo then load it to my Mac.
I then crop and do some small adjustments to said photo.
So now I have finished photo saved.
I then click on said photo and it is a completely different photo not the original photo that I took and processed, also when I load it to Photobucket and it comes out as the other photo.
Photo of a balloon the green one towards the middle that is cropped.

After processing.

Thank you sir.
First I take some photos.
I load them into the respective folder on my Mac.
I then open a photo and click “edit”.
I adjust brightness etc and crop.
I click “done”
I then click on finished photo and it opens up as a completely different photo and so far it has always been one of my lightpainting photos, wether the original photo is a macro shot or a balloon like this example.
Oh forgot to mention I can open any photo that hasn’t been mucked with no problem.

Yes, but... No, but... What program do you use to open and edit them?
In the meantime, do a pretty comprehensive malware scan

AM whatever the program is linked to Mac photos, it’s not a Lightroom or Photoshop or any stand alone program, I open a photo then there it is.
Sorry mate I’m not very puter literate.
(In the meantime, do a pretty comprehensive malware scan)

I see, but if this "development" is recent, why not?
You must be using Apple Photo, which from reports is nothing to sneeze at.
When you (used to/still do) save edited images, do you give them a different filename from the original?

Yes recent, probably since the SSD was fitted and then replaced.
I would say it is Apple Photo cause it’s built into the photo storing thingy.
No the original photo is replaced with the processed one, but I can open the photo and click on “revert to original “ which brings it back to what I started with.
You should be Knighted for the way you help people.

Benighted, I know you meant :p:p
Hmm!!! I'd be exporting edits to a new file.
That'd (or should) leave the original file alone.
Mostly, at least I do, you develop any raw file, save it as something you can edit further if necessary
(like a tiff or psd), then finally save those edits as a jpeg. You keep the original and intermediate files
intact.

I’ll give that a try tomorrow, thanks Sir AM

Ok I think what I was doing was not waiting for the changes to load.
After I made the changes I would click "done" then go to another photo instead of waiting for the changes to load .
Tried 3 just now and waited for a minute before going to another photo and it seams to be working ok.
Hmmm ??????
Thanks Sir AM I appreciate your help.
