I have just downloaded Gimp 2.10.18 - and also the files for the Resynthesizer Plug-in.
I followed a Tutorial which all went well until the final hurdle when I had to locate the main Gimp Folder on my pc and install the Resynthesizer files. I can't seem to transfer the files over.
I am running Windows 7.
Has anyone tried this?

Did you find the correct folder in Gimp in which the files needed to be copied to? The files can be drag and dropped from where they are currently stored on your computer, into the correct folder in Gimp. If you can't drag and drop them, select them in the folder they are now stored in then copy them. Then go to the folder in Gimp and paste them in. If you have tried this already, and they can't be dragged into, or pasted into the Plugin folder in Gimp, check the permissions on the folder in Gimp and make sure there are no permissions blocking new files from being added to the Plugin folder. I'd be very surprised if that were the case.

How are you supposed to "transfer" the files, and what is happening when you try to do so?

A link to the video tutorial will do.

Thanks farmax and Am.

Yes farmax - I have tried both ways. It won’t let me copy and paste or drag and drop. A little cross appears.
The tutorial goes well until about the 4min 30 mark when he says to highlight the address in the address bar.
Will not do. No trouble in finding the Gimp plugin file and copying - just will not paste into the address as he says to do.
I had an idea (at 4.30 am in bed, as you do :D) that at the start of the video where he says to put the Resynthesizer files in your preferred spot that I may have left them in Downloads and not put them in Documents as he had done.
This needs to be checked out, but unfortunately we left this morning on an interstate trip and I have not had a chance to do so.

Here is the video link.

The resynthesizer in Gimp gets good notices, reputed to be better than Photoshop’s Content Aware and I have used it before but you seem to lose some plugins when you upgrade, and have to re-install.

Let me know what you think.

Lyn. Don't worry about highlighting and copying that address bar line if you're having trouble.
Just jot it down and navigate to it.

Try to open two windows of File Manager/Explorer. WIN E (Win logo key + E) is the keyboard
shortcut, and it is still the same in Win 10. Sit the two windows near/overlapping each other
and copy/paste from/to the right locations.

Hmm! - I will shift this thread into General Help, as it is about help with computer procedures rather
than PP.

Thanks Am - I will wait now until we are home in about a week and have another go. So frustrating to fall at the final hurdle! I will let you know later how I get on. Fingers crossed.

I have one in my basement but haven't checked on him for a while.

Back home from an abbreviated trip (self-isolation is the go) and time to re-address my little problem.
Am - I opened the two windows but it still would not let me drag/drop or copy/paste.
Then I realised I probably had to open and add a NEW folder in the plug-in folder of Gimp. Once I did that and put the address of the Resynthesizer folder in the new address bar we were right! Duh. All working well.
Got there in the end, so just thought I would let you know.
