Hi all. Total newbie here.

I will be travelling to South Africa soon and want to use it as an opportunity to explore photography a bit more.

Will be chasing recommendations for a good beginners camera that won't break the bank.

Cheers

Crap replies to you so far.:(
You should have been thinking about this at least a year back. Not only do you need to deal with what camera to get you need to then learn how to use it.
I'm not a gear person so don't know what to suggest other than posting your question here maybe ... http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?21-General-Help

Welcoming replies to your intro thread so far:), and well done for having already posted your camera
recommendation question in the General Help thread below, as you indicated you would do:

http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showthread.php?163616-Camera-for-Safari-trip&p=1505528#post1505528

- and which has garnered some relevant replies as well.

Wow, most welcoming and helpful of you Mark

Did you ever consider that a year back, he may not have been planning a trip to South Africa,
, the appropriate questions have been asked in the correct forum
