Today I was contemplating taking a photo of this cockroach that had fallen on it's back, and in true cockroach fashion, was unable to get itself the right way up again.
You could be excused for thinking that cockroaches, an ancient group dating back at least as far as the Carboniferous period some 320 million years ago, would in all that time have mastered the art of flipping themselves over.
I also wondered why I was even having these thoughts and decided that the 44.7°C temp today may have caused a malfunction in one, or severalteen, of my brain cells.
All this thinking was making my head hurt so I put the camera down and reached for the insect spray.
