Coming down to Sydney for the high speed catamarangs SailGP Season 2 on February 28 and 29, 2020 and not that familiar with Sydney I’m unsure wether to pay to go out on one of the Captain Cook boats or find a land based spot.
The boats are out for about 5/6 hours from what I’ve read, not sure if the wife would be ok with that.
We’ll be staying near the casino in Pyrmont St.
Asking for suggestions for a land based spot, I’ll be using a 300mm lens plus a 2x TC if needed.

:scrtch: Well, the picture>S< of this that I could find all seem to be about the E side of the SHB :confused013
Can you give us any idea of the location?
Do C Cook Cruises cater for the event (not that I can see how they might given the number of competitors)?
If you're just doing a CCC for the harbour, I will just say that having been one two SUCH (one CCC) over the decades,
you're possibly better off catching a few ferries here and there. (That would involve doing a bit of homework for locations.)
Anyway, if it is all East Harbour, then I reckon the South Pylon of the SHB would be a vantage spot. With more detail of the
course, more "spots" could be suggested.
AM this is the course map if it helps
This is a big event and there will be many many spectators

Yes, it does look E of the Br. See if you can Google the S Pylon and do a sweep of the scenery.
I know it's a fixed position, and many may want to go there, but I think you'd need a fixed spot.
It's a bit distant, too. Will look later for some places along the shore... - but the same would hold
for crowds.

Yeah agree and not knowing the area and transport it might be best to go with CCC then I know I have a seat etc and I’m sure they will anchor in a good spot to view the racing.
